The Flatirons Food Film Festival kicks off on 1/28 and runs until 2/5, don't miss out! It will be held virtually this year, so you can enjoy all of the films from the comfort of your couch. To pair with the program, they have put together some fun food pairings. You can check them all out on their website. We are excited to have curated one of the pairings. The craft chocolate flight was put together in honor of one of the films, Setting the Bar: A Craft Chocolate Origin Story.

2021 Check-In

2021 Check-In

Thanks for your support during a challenging 2020!

Before we get on to Flatirons Food Film Festival below...
You all have kept us busy through the end of the year and we couldn't be more thankful for that. Now that we've had a chance to catch our breath, please accept our belated Happy New Year!

In addition to sending out a huge thank you we wanted to take this opportunity to update our customers on what all of your support has done for our business and our plans for 2021.
It's been close to a year since our entire business changed almost overnight. Although it has been more then 10 months since we all started adjusting to new norms, it feels like it's the first opportunity we've had to reflect a little and start looking forward, instead of just trying to keep up.  While this certainly was the most challenging period we've faced as business owners, there was a lot of good to come out of 2020 for St. Kilian's.
With the overwhelming support from our customers and the hard work of our employees, we were able to make some big strides forward that we hope will benefit our customers, employees, and vendors for a long time to come.  A couple of highlights include:
  • We donated over $8000 to deserving charities and organizations from our shoplocal promotion and our Victory Cheese program
  • We supported small American producers and vendors by moving more of our purchasing to their products and paying cash on delivery to help make up for their lost restaurant business sales
  • We expanded our local pickup and delivery options to improve safety and convenience for our customers and employees
  • We were able to expand our employee benefits in 2020 as all of them continued working on the front lines throughout the pandemic and allowed us to keep our doors open
In the coming months we hope to continue adding to our product offerings as we grow to meet all of our customers needs.  You can expect regular communication from us and more offerings on our website as we continue to try and make shopping from home easier for all our customers. We're looking forward to when we can welcome everyone back in person, share tastes in our shop and enjoy meals at our favorite restaurants.  Until then, we wish you all the best in 2021!

Easily Pick-Up or Deliver Holiday Orders

Easily Pick-Up or Deliver Holiday Orders

It's our busiest time of the year.

The days leading up to Thanksgiving are some of our busiest each year. Because we are limiting the number of people in our store at one time, we encourage you to place an order for pick-up or delivery. It's easy! And it means you won't spend time waiting in line.

We know this year will be different, and we want to be sure your shopping goes smoothly. Here's how to shop like a pro and avoid lines:

1. Call or email us with your order, we are happy to answer any questions for you, just like if you were in the store. OR order right on our website and build your order there. Since our selections are always changing, we don't have our entire selection on the website, but we are happy to add items to your order.

2. Select a local delivery option or select pick-up and we can meet you at the curb with your order.

3. Feel accomplished because your shopping is done and all you have to do now is enjoy Thanksgiving!

We are open our usual hours next week, of course closed on Thanksgiving Day.

We are still so thankful for each of you!

Y'all continue to show up and support our Highlands neighborhood! We are grateful to have customers who have continued to support us small businesses. Thank you, thank you!

We're sponsoring the Highlands Farmers Market! $5 Market Bucks

There are only two more weeks of the Highlands Farmers Market!
We want to thank all the Vendors, Real Farmers Markets, the Highlands Merchant Association and, of course, all of the customers who make the market possible and have allowed us to have a great market during challenging times.   This weekend, in support of the market and all the wonderful farmers and artisans, we are asking everyone to come out and help support them. St. Kilian's will  be contributing over $1000 to the market vendors, and the market customers can enjoy the benefits this Sunday.
We will be participating in the market this weekend and are giving away market bucks to customers to spend at the market.  Stop by Sunday at our tent or at the store to grab your bucks, and then simply shop with any market vendor and enjoy. We will be handing out over $1,000 in $5 market bucks to say thank you to our farmers and neighbors.
We hope to see you all this Sunday!
Celebrate A Local Charcuterie Maker

Celebrate A Local Charcuterie Maker

By now, you've heard of the Victory Cheese Boxes we are putting together. We have a new one that we are super excited about!

This special box focuses on artisan charcuterie by Bill Miner of Il Porcellino Salumi, just up the road in the Berkeley neighborhood.  We've put together a Victory cheese box that includes 3 cheeses from some our favorite American artisan cheese producers, each perfectly paired with an Il Porcellino salami.

Boxes are available for pickup at St. Kilian's and Il Porcellino in Denver. They can also be delivered locally or shipped nationwide.

The box makes a great gift or it can set the scene for a special date night or celebration at home.
What's in a box? Here's an example:
  • Saucisson Sec Salami - Il Porcellino, Denver CO - Traditional French Style Salami with Garlic, Black Pepper, and Carboy Malbec Wine
  • Finback - Mystic Cheese Company, Groton CT - Savory and complex English style bandaged cheese
  • Orange Pistachio Salami - Il Porcellino, Denver CO - Sicilian Style Salami seasoned with Garlic, Fresh Orange Zest, and Sicilian Pistachios
  • Sofia - Capriole Goat Cheese, Greenville, IN - Loire valley inspired good food award winning ashed rind goat, delicate on the inside and flavorful on the edges
  • Diablo Salami - Il Porcellino, Denver CO - A Calabrese Style Salami seasoned with Fennel Seeds and both Whole & Ground Calabrian Chiles.
  • Cabrillo - Stepladder Ranch & Creamery, Cambia CA
  • Redcamper Mostarda
The Victory box is available now and can be ordered for shipping, pickup or delivery. We now a have a new and improved delivery service with scheduled deliveries 7 days a week and a larger area of coverage in Colorado.
Our friends and neighbors, Il Porcellino Salumi, is located just north of our shop, in the Berkley neighborhood. They make some of the finest artisan charcuterie in the United States.  No longer a local secret after multiple awards including Good Food Awards and Grand Champion at Charcuterie Masters, their local deli has expanded to full wholesale production in Basalt, CO.

We're proud to partner with Il Porcellino and stock the majority of their line in our shop, including retail salami's and a rotating collection on the deli slicer.  If you enjoy these products make sure to check out their deli off of Tennyson for some of the best sandwiches in the Denver area.
Easy Pizza Night At Home with Our Improved Pizza Kits

Easy Pizza Night At Home with Our Improved Pizza Kits

We've revamped our pizza kits and we think you're really going to like them.

Pizza kits are back! We have the best ingredients and toppings so you can make the best pizza in Denver, at your home, at anytime. It starts with Babette’s pizza dough, which can be stretched and cooked in a hot pizza oven for a classic Neapolitan-style pizza or rolled out thin and par-baked before topping for an easier home oven version. Next up, most of our kits layer on our favorite simple tomato sauce and a base of aged mozzarella, but sometimes we like to mix it up with pesto or fresh burrata. Then, the final touch is the fun part for us, we like to add a flavorful cheese to bring it all together and an additional topping like local salami, thin sliced prosciutto or pickled peppers. Check out a few of our favorite flavor combos below and all the options HERE.

Looking for baking instructions for your pizza? We've got your covered.
Pizza Oven Instructions
Stretch and spread the pizza dough out thin and arrange it on your peel that has been dusted with cornmeal. Top your pizza on the peel and carefully load it into your pizza oven. You will know when your pie is done when the edge of the crust is bubbling and blistered and the bottom is brown.  For more great tips and directions we recommend Ooni.
Home Oven Instructions
If you are baking your pizza in your conventional home oven, preheat the oven to 450F. You can make your pizza on a sheet pan, a stone, cast iron skillet or directly on parchment paper. If you are using a stone or skillet, be sure to preheat these along with the oven. Use your hands or a rolling pin to roll out the pizza dough to your desired size (additional flour will help keep the dough from sticking and hold it's shape.) A bigger pizza will have a thinner crust and smaller round will have a thicker crust. Pierce the dough with a fork to create small holes for air to escape, and place your crust in the oven for about 2 minutes to par-bake it. Remove it from the oven, and add your toppings. Continue baking until the cheese is melted and the edges of the crust and the bottom of the pizza are golden to dark brown.
