We love the newest addition to the Neal's Yard Dairy family of artisan cheddars. Our description is delicious and everything you want from a cheddar, but read below for more info about this "new classic"!
"There is a history of Somerset Cheddar-makers producing Caerphilly, as it's quicker-maturing and provides a faster turnaround. The Trethowans have gone about this the opposite way around, adding a long-maturing cheese to their Caerphilly production. While a cheese store is currently being built on the farm, the early batches have been matured at Westcombe Dairy. Location - Somerset, England
The Trethowans moved production of their first cheese, Gorwydd Caerphilly, from their birth country of Wales to Somerset in 2014. The purpose-built dairy farm is approximately five miles from the village of Cheddar, so after the move they felt compelled to add a clothbound Cheddar to their production. The cheese is still being produced in very small batches, of 11 or 12 cheeses, but when the cheese store is complete on the farm production will increase to meet the growing demand for this exceptional new cheese"

The owners Jon and Veronica have spent the last 14+ years seeking about the very best foods from around the work and around the corner. Our store is filled with our favorite foods with a special emphasis on cheese, charcuterie and Italian Imports.
We're excited to offer a large assortment from our retail store for online ordering. Please keep in mind that we are primarily a retail store and while we do our best to accurately represent all of our products online, nothing can replace the service of our expert cheesemongers in person. We encourage you to contact us directly if you cannot find what you're looking for or have any questions about our product offerings. Here's a couple of things to keep in mind when ordering online
SHIPPING (BASED ON ACTUAL CARRIER RATES)
We offer nationwide shipping on the majority of our in-store products, we primarily utilize UPS for most services and you can see our prices and options at checkout.
Since many of our products are perishable we package orders in temperature controlled boxes to minimize the amount of time products are out of ideal temperatures, many require expedited shipping services, and we cannot ship certain highly perishable items like raw meats and meal kits, to ensure product quality. If you place an order for perishable items later in the week we may hold your order until Monday to ensure you shipment doesn't sit over a long weekend in a truck or warehouse.
